INSTALLING A STOVE INTO A CHIMNEY- NOT FITTING A LINER
When installing a stove you may wish to install it into an existing fire place or opening. We recommend (and so do HETAS) that chimneys where possible and practicable are lined, this not only ensures an air tight fit from the stove outlet to the chimney termination, but it protects the chimney and also increases the efficiency of the stove. This in turn should reduce the build up of deposits within the chimney system and will also make it easier for cleaning.
Please note that is dangerous in thatched properties and a suprisingly common cause of fire in the thatch. Contact us for more information.
